Having worked in the music industry for over 16 years, Alexis Jackson decided that freelancing was just not enough. She began her career on the campus of Howard University as a Campus Street Team Rep for an Atlanta based magazine, Tafrija. This opportunity put her in front of a West Coast A&R for Interscope records. Admiring her charm, wit and outgoing nature, he offered her a Lead Promotions position on his campus marketing team. Alexis Camoille modelled and did club promotions from 1995-1998, when she met her mentor, DJ LS One, DJ for Onyx. The next four years as the Tour Intern for Def Jam/Ruff Ryders and went on the Hard Knock Life 2 and Hard Knock 3, Ruff Ryder Tour 1 and 2, and ended with the Anger Management Tour. In 2000, Alexis took a brief hiatus to establish Madison Davenport. Since 1995, she had been involved in DC’s Underground Art Scene as a “patron of the arts” but was always being called on for Public Relations/Marketing and Promotions advice by indie and upcoming artists. In 2009, she decided to do something to assist up and coming indie artists- so she created and launched Madison Davenport Ink.
Madison Davenport Media focuses on viral promotions, marketing consultation, event coordination, public relations and all things in between that do not fit into one specific genre or another. One of the more popular services Madison Davenport is known for are the viral campaigns and the online marketing we run for clients. One of the more less known things that most of Madison Davenport’s audience does not know is that 80% of the projects we handle were created and/or developed with the client by Alexis Jackson.
As a philanthropist, Alexis is very involved in youth empowerment and community development. Alexis was recently appointed to be Director of Fiscal Programs, The TC Wallace Foundation and is very active in the Advisory Neighborhood Commission, Ward 7E.
